Will Chan is a seasoned public sector leader with over two decades of experience championing historically marginalized and diverse populations. As the Director of Business Development and Strategy for the Division of Small Business Opportunity in the City and County of Denver, Will focuses on fostering equitable access to contracting and construction opportunities for small businesses. His leadership in advancing economic mobility has been pivotal in creating pathways for minority-owned and disadvantaged businesses to succeed within Denver’s growing economy, better navigate civil rights programs, and expand opportunities for small enterprises across the region. His expertise spans grassroots community organizing, nonprofit capacity building, cultural equity, community engagement, and legislative affairs.
In addition to his professional work, Will is deeply committed to community service. He has served as an ambassador for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, as well as on the Denver Public Schools’ Mill Oversight Committee and the Denver County Cultural Council. He currently serves on the boards of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center, PlatteForum, and Scholars Unlimited.
