Cybersecurity Engineer
Scott McDonough is a Consultant with Coalfire’s Cyber Risk Advisory Practice. Scott is an accomplished and diverse cybersecurity consultant with proven success and hands-on experience supporting clients by performing information technology portfolio and compliance assessments and defining the client compliance posture and cyber security defenses; maintains an understanding of SIEM strategies and threat hunting tools, operational information security programs, and processes for mitigation of cyber risk. Scott has experience in both FedRAMP’s 800-53 and 800-171 compliance assessments, developing security operations and maturity models, collaboration and framing cyber challenges, strategic planning and implementation, as well as teaching cyber security and technical applications.
Prior to joining Coalfire, Scott served in multiple capacities at LogRhythm Inc. As a professional services consultant, Scott performed upgrades, new integrations, customization, and health checks of LogRhythm instances, supported customers with compliance, network monitoring, log consumption, and threat detection use cases. Additionally, Scott taught at LogRhythm University performing technical certified training to internal employees, partners, and customers on LogRhythm administration, best practices, Advanced Intelligent Engine rules, and threat hunting.
