SUMMARY:HR Basics & Legal Issues: Navigating the Legal World of Managing Employees
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n					\n					\n				\n								\n				\n				\n				\n									With new and changing employer laws\, it is essential that today’s business keep on top of this tricky world. This course will get you the resources you need including hiring\, employment requirements\, labor sourcing and community programs. We will also include creating an employee handbook\, safety regulations and emergency preparedness. This is a two-day course. He has worked with several companies and organizaitons\, large and small\, to coach individual potential and organizational performance. His business background includes Molson Coors Brewing Company. Together\, they built everything from garages\, sheds and homes for their \nfamilies.\nShe started her construction career at a commercial plumbing company in \nBroomfield\, CO. She held various roles including office manager\, project \ncoordinator\, and project manager/estimator. As her career progressed\, she \ndeveloped and implemented full- scale residential service and commercial tenant \nimprovement divisions.\nAs her knowledge of the construction industry continued\, she worked for a specialty\nlow-voltage contractor that installed Nurse-call\, life safety\, security and A/V systems\nthroughout the Rocky Mountain region.   Working closely with executive \nmanagement\, she oversaw company-wide HR programs such payroll\, training\, \ncompensation plans\, performance\, safety/OSHA compliance\, Federal EEO/OFCCP\, \nWorkers’ Compensation\, business compliance and fleet management.\nHer current role\, Human Resources Manager\, at GH Phipps Construction Companies \nhas allowed her to grow her career and passion for construction even further.  \nChristine is heavily involved with the GH Phipps outreach program and works with \norganizations state-wide. \nHer professional association with the City and County of Denver\, Construction \nCareers Program\, Denver Economic Development Opportunity\, AGC of Colorado\, \noutreach with MWBE contractors\, HCC events\, and Construction Girl allows her to \nfocus on promoting the trades as a career path for today’s youth. The involvement \nshe has with these organizations keep her excited to be in the ever changing and \ngrowing construction industry!\nShe currently is the Co-Chair for the Women of Phipps and is on the Customer \nExperience Certificate Program Advisory Board at University of Colorado\, Leeds \nSchool of Business.					\n				\n							\n						\n						\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n				\n									\n					\n						\n									REGISTER NOW\n					\n					\n				\n								\n				\n					\n		\n				\n			\n						\n				\n									HCC Contractor Academy has formed a strategic partnership with Front Range Community College to offer college-level courses at a fraction of the cost.  You’ll learn from seasoned instructors in an industry-graduate training program designed specifically for HCC Contractor Academy. These aren’t your typical one-off training classes. These courses are developed and taught by construction industry experts and cover topics that are critical to the growth and sustainability of contractors in Colorado. If you want to play with the big dogs\, you need to learn from the best—and that means attending these courses! This course is part of a series of 11 courses. The first five courses were offered in the spring of 2022\, and the remaining six courses are being offered in the fall of 2022. Thanks to a generous Skill Advance Colorado Job Training Grant as well as a sponsorship from the City and County of Denver Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO)\, each eight-hour course will be $150 and each four-hour course will be $100 (regularly $200). Construction and construction-related service businesses are eligible to receive a scholarship for an additional 50% off course fees.
