SUMMARY:HR – Managing Your Team
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed for employees beginning their management careers and those considering a transition into managerial responsibilities. This engaging and supportive learning experience is guided by the knowledge and experiences of you and your fellow participants. By the end of this 8-hour training\, you will be able to: Explain the function of job descriptions.Recall key considerations of leading others.Highlight factors that contribute to building positive professional relationships.Describe strategies used to resolve conflict in the workplace.Examine the use of performance review processes to develop employee accountability.Restate the value of mentoring in managing teams.Develop an argument in favor of focusing on employee retention.Part 2 of this course is July 25 from 3-7 pm. This is one of a series of courses presented through a Colorado Skill Advance Grant submitted by the NoCo Construction Partnership\, City of Fort Collins and City of Loveland. In addition to professor\, trainer and international business coach – John spent several years as a project manager for both Woodward and GE\, where John’s projects ranged from small hydropower plants to large gas turbine power plants.  John has 30 years of experience leading teams as a project manager\, sales manager\, Global Product Manager\, International General Manager\, International Field Engineer and US Navy Nuclear Submariner.
