SUMMARY:HR – Navigating Legal Issues
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed for employees beginning their management careers and those considering a transition into managerial responsibilities. This engaging and supportive learning experience is guided by the knowledge and experiences of you and your fellow participants. By the end of this 8-hour training\, you will be able to: Illustrate the employment arc from finding an employee through hiring and employment.Summarize the role of an employee handbook in construction businesses.Outline the ways in which prevailing wage relates to businesses in the construction industry.Explain how various laws and requirements relate to employment in the construction industry.Part 2 of this course is August 1 from 3-7 pm. This is one of a series of courses presented through a Colorado Skill Advance Grant submitted by the NoCo Construction Partnership\, City of Fort Collins and City of Loveland. All courses will be taught by an experienced instructor through Live Remote – so you can attend in the comfort of your home or office. 								\n				\n				\n				\n									\n					\n						\n									register\n					\n					\n				\n								\n				\n				\n				\n							\n					\n				\n				\n			\n							\n				\n									\n						Arica Lococo					\n				\n									\n						VP\, Talent Management\, Dodge Construction NetworkArica\, as VP of Talent Management\, collaborates with Dodge Construction Network to create and implement strategies and processes to enhance the employee experience\, manage performance and development and employee relations.  \nSince joining Dodge Construction Network in January of 2022\, Arica has redesigned and implemented multiple modern best practices to harmonize recently merged teams\, and most recently designed and launched a Foundations of Leadership program\, which is a series of workshops aimed at increasing manager effectiveness in areas with most leverage and create an environment of peer learning and collaboration. \n\nArica has worked in various industries and company sizes from start-ups to private equity ventures. Prior to her role at DCN\, she owned an HR consulting firm\,  where she drove human capital strategies for small business owners who did not have an internal HR function. She successfully led the Employee Engagement function during Cabela‘s transition to a publically traded entity and facilitated the start-up operation at SK Hynix in the Colorado market. \n\nArica's earned her certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and holds the designation of Accredited Discovery Insight Practitioner. With a foundation in these credentials\, she has effectively shaped her 20+ years of professional experience to deliver transformative outcomes (tied activites to outcomes) across various industries and organizational settings.\n\nFun Facts about Arica:\nShe lives in Colorado with her husband\, and two dogs\, Cali\, and Aspen. Her adult children have all successfully graduated College (2 from Colorado State University) and have started their lives and careers within close proximity.\nShe is an outdoor enthusiast and has spent much time backpacking and exploring the backcountry of Rocky Mountain National Park\, which is in Estes Park\, Colorado where she was born and raised.\nHer daughter will be getting married in the Fall of 2024!
