This course is designed for employees beginning their management careers and those considering a transition into managerial responsibilities. We will begin with the basics of accounting before exploring examples of banking, budgeting, and forecasting. By the end of this 8-hour course, you will be able to:
- Describe the basics of accounting, including: Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Accounts needed for banking, Tax review with a CPA.
- Reproduce the steps involved in construction business planning,
- Explain the function of budgeting and forecasting in a construction business,
- Summarize the financial considerations for operating a construction business.
Part 2 of this course is February 22 from 3-7 pm.
This is one of a series of courses presented through a Colorado Skill Advance Grant submitted by the NoCo Construction Partnership, City of Fort Collins and City of Loveland.
