Finance and Accounting for Contractors

This course is designed for employees beginning their management careers and those considering a transition into managerial responsibilities. We will begin with the basics of accounting before exploring examples of banking, budgeting, and forecasting. By the end of this 8-hour course, you will be able to:
- Describe the basics of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounts needed for banking and tax review with a CPA
- Reproduce the steps involved in construction business planning
- Explain the function of budgeting and forecasting in a construction business
- Summarize the financial considerations for operating a construction business
This is a two-part course. Part 2 will be held on Thursday, October 10 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.
This course will be taught by an experienced instructor through Live Remote – so you can attend in the comfort of your home or office. Zoom link will be provided prior to class start date.
Contractor Academy teamed up with Front Range Community College to develop specific courses to help you develop your contracting business. This is one of a series of courses presented through a Colorado Skill Advance Grant submitted by the NoCo Construction Partnership, City of Fort Collins and City of Loveland.
