Course Description:

This course will cover the foundational skills needed to read construction drawings and specifications with an emphasis on finding trade-specific information while increasing the overall understanding of the project.

Taught by Sean Mendez, Adolfson & Peterson Construction

Sean Mendez is a project manager with Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP). A trim carpenter by trade, he has worked in the construction industry for 40 years—30 years in residential, and the last 10 years on the commercial side. Mendez has a B.A. in human performance of sports medicine from MSU Denver. For the past eight years, Mendez has been a committee member and instructor for HCC Contractor Academy’s education committee. High profile projects over the last 10 years include Garden City HS Kansas, VCSII Charter Communications, DPS Paul Sandoval Campus Expansion, Charter Communications TI, Liberty Industrial Distribution Center, City of Aurora Public Safety Training Center, DPS North HS Historic Renovation, and Holly School District RE-3 PK-12 (totaling 1.5 million sq/ft and $340 million).
